Grand Junction Scores 42 In The First Half In Win Over Central

GRAND JUNCTION, colo.-Grand Junction (6-3, 2-2 SWL) def. Central (0-9, 0-4 SWL), 42-12, Friday night at Stocker Stadium in the Tigers regular season finale.

Jr. RB/DB Dion Martinez ran in a three-yard touchdown run on the Tigers first possession to make it 7-0 Grand Junction less than two minutes into the contest.

The Tigers then forced a three-and-out and blocked the subsequent punt. James Diamonte recovered the ball inside the Warrior five-yard-line.

Jr. QB Tyler Heinzma then scored on a QB keeper from four yard away and the Tigers found themselves up 14-0 less than five minutes in.

Grand Junction scored 28 points in the first quarter alone and will now wait and see where they are ranked in the State 5A Playoffs.
