Grand Junction Hopes Bench Will Fuel Deep Playoff Run

by Josh Moser

GRAND JUNCTION, colo.-The Grand Junction Tigers (18-3, 8-1 SWL) will host rival Fruita Monument (16-6, 7-2) in the Southwestern League and regular season finale Friday night at Grand Junction High School.

The Tigers defeated the Wildcats in their last meeting on February 1st 42-35.

"The key to our team this year is our cohesiveness and our deep bench," said Head Coach, Sam Provenza. "We have so many players that can contribute and it allows us to keep everybody fresh."

Tip-off is at 5:30 p.m. Friday night. If Grand Junction wins they take the SWL Championship out-right. If Fruita wins, there will be a three-way tie between Fruita, Montrose , and Grand Junction, which will have a major impact on State playoff seedings.
