Grand Junction Girls Hoops Prep to Open the Season

by Claire Brandon

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo.--The Grand Junction girls basketball team will open its season Thursday against Pueblo Central at the Pueblo West Tournament.

The Tigers return ten letter men from last year's conference championship team, and head coach Sam Provenza says that is experience is probably their biggest strength this year.

Although they lost last season's star senior Jamie Derrieux, a first-team all-state selection, they also return three starters including all-conference players Sydni Brandon and Shafer Rubalcaba.
