Fruita Talks Rivalry Matchup Against No. 8 Grand Junction

by KREX News Room

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo.--The Wildcats, who have lost four consecutive games after winning their opener against Adams City, will take on No. 8 Grand Junction in a big rivalry game Friday night.

But Fruita head coach Sean Mulvey says anytime these two teams face each other, records are thrown out the window.

"If you've watched any of these games throughout the years, you know that rankings mean nothing," he said. "In that rivalry game it's the team that can relax and minimize the errors."

Fruita is coming off a 15-7 road loss to Highlands Ranch, while the Tigers handed Mountain Range their first loss of the season, 28-14.

"Junction week is always exciting," linebacker/wide receiver Aiden Woomer said. "It doesn't matter what sport, it's just fun. We're going to try our best, practice hard all week, stay mentally in it, and come out on Friday."

Kickoff set for 7 p.m. at Stocker Stadium.
