Delta Panthers Begin Prepping for Pueblo East

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo.-- No. 13 Delta, coming off an upset over No. 4 The Classical Academy, is set to host No. 5 Pueblo East in the second round of Class 3A Playoffs Saturday at 1 p.m.

Head coach Ben Johnson said, defensively, they're peaking at the right time, and he's very pleased with the way they're playing on that side of the ball.

Delta is in the playoffs for the first time since Johnson took over as head coach in 2009.

"My brother was a senior that year," senior Josh Lindsey said. "I looked up to him, and it was always kind of a dream of mine. It's pretty much surreal. Even when you're a little kid you dreamed of going to the playoffs, and now it's actually coming true."

Pueblo East is 9-2 on the year.
