Bulldogs Prep for Playoff Opener

by Claire Brandon

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo.--No. 9 Palisade began prepping for Saturday's playoff opener at No. 8 Roosevelt. Kickoff set for 1 p.m.

"I'm kind of pumped actually," junior Devan Lucero said. "I love going on the road and playing, especially on a Saturday. I like to travel with the team, go eat as a team and play as a team."

Palisade (8-2) was the second-ranked team in the state for the first five weeks of the season.

Roosevelt (6-4) clinched the Tri-Valley Conference Title, which means a home game in the first round.

"[Roosevelt] is really big, physical," head coach John Arledge said. "They're going to hit you right in the face. A running team for the most part. It's going to be tough to go over there and play on their home field and win."

The winner will advance to play either No. 1 Rifle or No. 16 Erie in the second round.
