Billy Dreher To Take Over For Dave Fox at Fruita Monument

by Josh Moser

GRAND JUNCTION, colo.-Former All-American at Fruita Monument High School, Billy Dreher, will now return to his alma mater to be the new Boys Head Basketball Coach.

Dreher played at Fruita Monument from 1986-1988, and earned "All-American" status before attending Oklahoma State his freshman year of college.

The Western Slope native then transferred to Cal-Berkley where he holds a three-point shooting record to this day.

After his collegiate career, Dreher played professionally overseas, before returning to the United States where he has coach the last few years.

His last stop was at St. Louis Catholic School in Lake Charles, La., after three successful seasons in New Iberia, where he led a Catholic Boys team to two consecutive district titles and a State quarterfinal appearance in 2008.

Dreher arrived in Grand Junction last week and is getting set for camps beginning on Monday.
