Rockies Snap Two-Game Skid With A Win Over Orem

GRAND JUNCTION, colo.-The Grand Junction Rockies (7-9) def. the Orem Owlz (6-10), 7-5, Tuesday night at Suplizio Field, snapping a two-game losing skid.

Left-handed pitcher Brian Rike earned his first professional win after tossing two scoreless innings. Rike was a former second round pick that was converted from an outfielder to a pitcher less than three months ago.

Firstbaseman Ben Waldrip was the player of the game going 4-4, with 2HR's and 4 RBI's.

First-rounder David Dahl, went 2-4 on the night with an RBI, while SS Matt Wessinger went 3-4 with triple and scored two runs.

The Rockies will wrap up the two-game set against Orem Wednesday July 4th at Suplizio Field. First pitch set for 6:30 p.m.
