Missoula Gets Three in the 8th to Overtake Grand Junction

GRAND JUNCTION, colo.-The Grand Junction Rockies (10-13) fell 6-3, Wednesday night to the Missoula Osprey (13-10), the minor league affiliate of the Arizona Diamondbacks in Missoula, Montana.

Grand Junction took an early 1-0 lead thanks to a solo home-run by RF Julian Yan in the top of the second inning. However, the Osprey pitching staff would settle down after that striking out 13 Rockies hitters in total.

The Osprey scored three runs in the 8th, turning a 3-3 stalemate into a three-run advantage.

Grand Junction would go down on strikes three separate times in the ninth to close out the game.

Both teams will go at it Thursday night in game two of the three-game set.
