Grand Junction Rockies Fall in Exhibition Opener

GRAND JUNCTION, colo.-The Grand Junction Rockies fell in their inaugural exhibition game to the Greeley Greys, 9-8, Thursday night at Suplizio Field.

Julian Yan was the highlight for the Grand Junction Rockies, going 3-4 on the night with two home-runs.

Alving Mejias got the start for Grand Junction and threw five innings giving up five runs.

Patrick Johnson then came on in relief and threw two innings giving up two runs.

Kyle Roliard threw the 8th and completed a 1-2-3 inning with two strikeouts.

Jesse Meaux came in to close in the 9th with a two-run lead, but allowed four earned runs. Meaux takes the loss in the exhibition match up.

Grand Junction will officially open their season on Monday traveling to Ogden, Utah to take on the Ogden Raptors, a minor league affliate of the Los Angeles Dodgers.
