Grand Junction Rockies Arrive for 2012 Season

by Claire Brandon

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo.--Professional baseball in Grand Junction is officially here.

Roughly 25 members of the Grand Junction Rockies flew in Sunday to report for the team's mini-camp, which kicks off Monday afternoon.

"It looks like we're going to have a pretty talented group," said manager Tony Diaz. "Especially with some high schoolers that we picked early in the draft. When you combine those players with the ones we already had in extended spring training, kids that played last year, there's a lot of excitement around the ball club."

The players will participate in the team's week long mini-camp before kicking off the season in Ogden, Utah on Monday, June 18.
