GJ Rockies Force Game 3 in Divisional Playoffs

OGDEN, UT--The Grand Junction Rockies (1-1, 44-33) defeated the Ogden Raptors (1-1, 44-33) 8-7 in 11 innings Saturday night at Lindquist Field.

The South Division Championship series is now tied 1-1, forcing a deciding game Sunday in Ogden.

The Raptors took an early lead after scoring five runs of left handed pitcher Jayson Aquino.

Ben Waldrip hit a 3-run homer in the top of the 8th to give the Rockies a 7-5 lead, but Ogden would tie it up again in the bottom of the inning.

The best-of-three series went into 11 innings for the second straight night, but Wilfredo Rodriguez hit the go-ahead single to give the Rockies an 8-7 lead.

Shawn Stuart kept the Raptors scoreless in the final two innings to get the win.

Ryan Warner will get the start for the Rockies on Sunday. First pitch at 4 p.m.
