GJ Rockies Are Now Tied For First After A Win Over Helena

GRAND JUNCTION, colo.-The Grand Junction Rockies (34-28, 13-11) def. the Helena Brewers(20-42, 7-17), 12-6, Thursday night moving them into a tie for first place in the Pioneer League South with the Orem Owlz.

The Grand Junction Rockies put up six runs in the 8th inning to blow this one open highlighted by a two-RBI double by David Dahl. The tenth overall pick in 2012, remains near the top of the league in total hitting.

Their are 15 games left in the Rockies season, with the winner of the second half guaranteed a playoff spot. The winner will play a three-game series against Ogden, who won the first half. If the Raptors repeat as second half champions (are currently .5 games back of first place) they will play the team with the best overall record in the division.

Grand Junction will close out their four game set in Helena on Friday night.
