David Dahl Is Named the "Player of the Year" in Rookie League Baseball

GRAND JUNCTION, colo.-Rockies OF David Dahl was named Friday as the Rookie Level "Player of the Year" in all of minor league baseball.

The Rockies first-round pick of 2012 batted .379 to lead the Pioneer League. (He captured the Pioneer League MVP as well). Dahl was second in the league in doubles (22) and triples (10), after leading the league in total hits (106).

The Rockies other first-round pick, Eddie Butler was just one of four Rookie League pitchers to be named an all-star. Butler was 7-1 on the year with a 2.13 ERA.

The Rockies advanced to the playoffs for the first time in 11 years this season.
