Colorado Mesa's Jeff Popick Makes Professional Debut

GRAND JUNCTION, colo.-Colorado Mesa's All-American Outfielder, Jeff Popick, made his professional debut Wednesday night for the Grand Junction Rockies in a game against the Odgen Raptors, the minor league affiliate of the Los Angeles Dodgers.

Popick was named 1st Team All-American by the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) and 2nd Team All-American by the National Collegiate Baseball Writer's Association (NCBWA) as a senior at CMU.

He is also the first ABCA All-American since Matt Bodenchuk in 2009 and first NCBWA All-American since Matt Miller in 2008 at Colorado Mesa.

In his senior season as a Maverick, he hit .424 with 17 doubles, 3 triples and 7 homeruns. He also led the team in RBIs with 65 and walks with 31.
