X-Games Recap: Shaun White Makes History

by Josh Moser

GRAND JUNCTION, colo.-Shaun White capped off the 2013 X-Games with a winning score of 98.0 to take home his sixth consecutive Gold Medal in the Men's Snowboard Superpipe competition.

White used the same run that won him Gold and a perfect score in 2012, to vault him into the top spot on his second run in the final. He also set a world-record eclipsing the 24-foot vertical air threshold above the quarter-pipe lip.

Kelly Clark took home the Gold for the third consecutive time on the Women's Snowboard Superpipe edging out Elena Hight. High was the first person in competition to land a double backside alley-oop rodeo.

Mark McMorris took home the Gold in Men's Snowboard Slopestyle for the second consecutive year, while David Wise went for back-to-back gold medals in the Men's Ski Superpipe.
