Rockies Snap Losing Skid, Dahl Extends Hit-Streak to Fifteen

GRAND JUNCTION, colo.-The Grand Junction Rockies (22-21, 1-4) def. the Orem Owlz (21-22, 4-1), 8-2, Thursday night at Suplizio Field, snapping their four-game losing skid.

Centerfielder David Dahl extended his hitting streak to 15 games with a single in the fifth inning en route to two total hits on the night.

Thursday night was also the Stateside debut of LHP Jayson Aquino. The 19-year-old threw 5.2 innings giving up two runs (one earned) on four hits with six strikeouts in a very impressive showing.

The win also was the first for the Rockies in the second half of the season.

Grand Junction will welcome in Ogden to town on Friday night, opening up a three-game set at Suplizio, before spending the next seven on the road in Utah.

Legendary MLB first baseman and father of Rockies' OF/ DH Ryan Garvey, Steve Garvey, will be on hand signing autographs before the start of the game Friday night.
