Rockies Fall In Extras, Split Series With Raptors
GRAND JUNCTION, Colo.-The Grand Junction Rockies (9-5) fell Wednesday night 10-8, in 11 innings to the Ogden Raptors (LAD) (9-5), putting the two teams in a tie for the top of the Pioneer League South.
Rockies 2nd-round pick, Ryan McMahon hit his first professional home run in the bottom of the first inning quickly giving Grand Junction an early 3-1 lead, before hitting a his second long ball of his pro career to tie the game at 8-8 in the 9th inning.
However in the top of the 11th, Spencer Navin would double in Joey Curletta and Alex Santana to give the Dodgers affiliate a 10-8 lead.
Jacob Rhame would strike out the side in the bottom half to earn the save.
The Rockies will now travel to Idaho Falls for a four-game set against the Kansas City Royals affiliate.
Grand Junction will return on July 9th to host the Billings Mustangs of the Cincinnati Reds organization.
