Class 4A Playoffs: No. 7 Montrose to Host in First Round

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo.--Montrose earned the No. 7 seed as CHSAA released the 2012 playoff bracket for Class 4A Sunday afternoon.

The Indians will host No. 10 Mesa Ridge in the first round on Saturday, Nov. 10. Kickoff time has not been announced.

Montrose is 7-3 on the season, with two of those wins coming over Grand Junction and Fruita in Class 5A.

The Indians were also undefeated in conference play to clinch their fifth Southwestern League Title in the past seven years.

Much of their success is thanks to junior running back Angelo Youngren, who is second in Class 4A in rushing with nearly 1,500 yards on the ground and 18 touchdowns.

Although he was out last week with an ankle injury, he is expected to be on the field for this week's big match-up.

Mesa ridge is coming off a 44-to-20 loss to top-seeded Pueblo West.
