Palisade Hangs On To Defeat Rifle And Stay Undefeated in WSL Play

by Josh Moser

GRAND JUNCTION, colo.-Palisade (4-2, 3-0 WSL) def. Rifle (2-5, 0-2 WSL) 49-39 at Palisade High School to stay undefeated in Western Slope League Play.

Tanner Quick of Rifle led all scorers with 23 points on the night, despite the loss.

Palisade took a four point lead into the half and stretched it into double figures with four minutes remaining in the game. Rifle would cut the lead to five only to have it baloon back to ten points under two minutes to play.

A key steal and lay-up by Daniel Ness under three minutes to play put the game out of reach for the Bears.

Palisade will return to the court Friday night hosting Cortez High School.
