No. 4 Colorado Mesa Extends Winning Streak to Sixteen

GRAND JUNCTION, colo.- Colorado Mesa (16-0, 12-0 RMAC) held off visiting Metro State (11-6, 9-3 RMAC) 73-67 in Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference action on Friday night in front of a packed house (1,728) in Brownson Arena.

CMU had four players register double digits led by Kelsey Sigl's game high 22 points. Sigl finished with seven rebounds and one assist. Katrina Selsor recorded her fourth double-double on the year with 16 points, a game-high 12 rebounds, and five assists. Katrina was 11 of 12 from the foul line. Bruna Deichmann had 13 points, six rebounds and one steal off the bench. Sharaya Selsor finished with 11 points.

CMU raced out to an early lead in the first half leading the Roadrunners by 19 points (32-13) with 7:30 remaining in the first half. Metro went on a 21-7 run to close out the half and cut the deficit to 39-34 at intermission.

The two teams played even the entire second half with CMU outscoring Metro 34-33. CMU pushed the lead back to double digits holding a 12 point lead (62-50) at the 9:33 mark. Metro went on an 11-2 spurt and closed the gap to 64-61 with 5:56 remaining in regulation. A trey by Metro's Kya DeGarmo pulled the Roadrunners to within one point (64-65) with 3:36 left in the contest.

CMU closed out the final 3:21 hitting 8 of 8 from the foul line. Down the stretch the Selsor sisters sank four free throws each to help seal the victory. CMU was 27 of 33 from the foul line in the game.

Metro had four players in double figures, led by Emily Wood's 19 points.

CMU will host Regis University on Saturday. Tip-off is slated for 5:30 p.m.
