No. 1 Rifle Looks To Stay Undefeated Against No. 6 Conifer

by Claire Brandon

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo.--Class 3A No. 1 Rifle will look to stay on top as it hosts No. 6 Conifer Friday night.

The Bears (6-0) are coming off a 31-3 victory over No. 2 Rifle and are now outscoring their opponents 266-15.

"We just do what we do, and things seem to be working in our favor," head coach Damon Wells said. "I can tell you that we are sincere when we say that every seven days are all that matter to us.

"Ultimately, our singular goal is just to make the playoffs, and the reason why is because we just want to spend seven more days together."

Rifle is led by senior running back Ryan Moeller, who has rushed for over 1,500 yards and 22 touchdowns through six games.

The Lobos stand at 5-1 on the season.
