No. 1 Rifle Advances to Class 3A State Championship

PUEBLO, Colo.--No. 1 Rifle defeated No. 5 Pueblo East, 56-6, Saturday in the Class 3A semifinals to advance to the state title game.

The undefeated Bears will face No. 10 Silver Creek, who is making its second-straight championship appearance.

Rifle was up 14-0 early, when the Eagles started making their way into red zone territory; however, a fumble on the goal line allowed the Bears to take over. Their very next play was an 80-yard touchdown pass from Adam Rice to Kellin Leigh.

The Bears improve to 13-0 on the season.
