NCAA Regional Day One Recap

GRAND JUNCTION, colo.-Day one of the 2012-2013 South Central Division II Women's Regional Basketball Tournament concluded with fourth-seeded UT-Permian Basin (21-7) def. fifth-seeded Abilene Christian (21-7) 70-68 at Brownson Arena.

The Falcons of UT-PB will face top-seeded and host school Colorado Mesa (29-1) in the second semi-final Saturday night at 7:30 p.m. The Mavericks defeated eighth-seeded Fort Lewis College (18-11), 74-48 to stay undefeated at Brownson Arena this season.

The first semi-final will feature second-seeded Midwestern State (TX) (25-5), who defeated seventh-seeded Tartleton State (TX), 91-78 , in today's quarterfinal round and sixth-seeded Metro State (22-7). The Lady Roadrunners knocked off the three seed St. Marys (TX) (22-7), 58-55, to advance to the National Round of 32.

The Championship of the South Central Region will take place Monday night at Brownson Arena. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m.
