Mavs Get Ready for Final Game of 2012 Season

by Claire Brandon

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo.--Junior quarterback Jason Haferman was throwing the ball at Colorado Mesa's second-to-last practice of the season Wednesday; however, a decision on who will start this weekend--Haferman or Deke Cisco--will be made Thursday.

The Mavs (4-6, 4-4 RMAC) will close out the 2012 season at Adams State Saturday at 1 p.m.

The Grizzlies (7-3, 5-3 RMAC) are riding a three-game winning streak and coming off a huge win over Colorado School of Mines to move into fourth place in the RMAC.

They've also won six of the last eight meetings versus Colorado Mesa, who is in a two-way tie for fifth place in the standings.

The Mavs finished last season 4-7 overall and 3-6 in conference play.

Adams State quarterback Trevor Eggleston is the RMAC Offensive Player of the Week.
