Johnathan Gray Arrives in Grand Junction
GRAND JUNCTION, Colo.-Colorado Rockies first-round selection Johnathan Gray arrived in Grand Junction Monday afternoon to begin his pro career with the Grand Junction Rockies.
Gray is a hard throwing right-hander out of the University of Oklahoma and was the third overall selection in this year's draft.
He becomes the second consecutive first-round selection of the Rockies to start in Grand Junction, following David Dahl last season who went on to win the Pioneer League MVP.
"I have a lot of innings on my arm this year so I don't think they are going too push me to hard, they just want me to get my feet wet playing pro ball," said Gray.
There is no word on when Gray will officially pitch for the Grand Junction Rockies or on how long they plan on keeping him at the Rookie level.
