Grand Junction Wins Southwestern League Title

GRAND JUNCTION, colo.-Grand Junction (16-5, 8-1 SWL) captured the 2012-2013 Southwestern League title on Tuesday nighwith a 63-40 victory over Central (9-14, 4-6 SWL).

The Tigers found themselves up by 20 midway through the third quarter after consecutive baskets by sophomore D.J. Wells. The six-foot-seven post player returned to action tonight after suffering a sprained ankle in Friday's road contest against Cortez.

The Lady Tigers also defeated Central Tuesday evening by the score of 48-34. Junior Forward Shafer Rubalcaba led the way with 19 points.

Both Grand Junction teams will close out the regular season Friday night hosting rival Fruita.
