Grand Junction Rockies' Opening Lineup

by Claire Brandon

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo.--Grand Junction Rockies manager Tony Diaz released the starting lineup for Monday night's season opener in Ogden, Utah.

Josh Mueller, who spent the beginning of the season in Modesto (A+), will start on the mound.

Leading off for the Grand Junction Rockies is shortstop Cesar Galvez. At third base is Jason Stolz, the 17th round pick out of Clemson.

Julian Yan, who Diaz says is the "toosliest" player on the roster, will start in right field. He hit two homers in Thursday night's exhibition game.

First baseman Ben Waldrip (6-foot-6, 245 pounds) will be the cleanup hitter, and last year's second round pick, Carl Thomore, will be in left field.

Drew Beuerlein will start behind the plate, while Miguel De Leon will be the designated hitter.

Ryan Garvey, son of the legendary Steve Garvey, will be in center. Second baseman Juan Ciriaco will be the nine-hitter.
