Grand Junction Holds First Football Practice of 2012

GRAND JUNCTION, colo.-Grand Junction High School held their first official practice of 2012, Monday afternoon in preparation for their season opener on August 24th against Prairie View.

The Tigers are led by three senior lineman, Austin Berk who has verballed to Colorado State, James Diamonte, who has verballed to Wyoming and Kyler Rose, who has been seeking interest from Yale in the Ivy League.

Grand Junction loses two All-State players in quarterback Sean Rubalcaba who is now at Northern Colorado, and Jerreon Dennis, the All-Colorado runningback, who is now at Colorado Mesa.

Junior Austin Lewis will most likely take over the running responsibilities for Dennis, while Head Coach Robbie Owens has yet to name a starting quarterback.

The Tigers will be able to practice full pads on Thursday for the first time.
