Game Two: Rockies vs. Owlz

by Claire Brandon

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo.--The Grand Junction Rockies continue their road trip Sunday with game two against the Orem Owlz.

The Rockies came into the game with the highest batting average in the pioneer league (.308) and the second-highest ERA (6.19). They also lead the league in walks.

"I think the two have a direct relationship," Rockies broadcaster Adam Spolane said. "It's something that's been stressed, really after it seems like every game. They're just walking way too many guys. I talked to a scout earlier today and he said the same thing. They're just not throwing enough strikes. There's too much talent on this pitching staff for them to have that high ERA."
