Fruita Survives Scare From Delta in Season Opener

GRAND JUNCTION, colo.-Fruita Monument (1-0) def. Delta (0-1), 50-47, Thursday night at Central H.S. to open the 2012-2013 season with a win in new Head Coach Billy Dreher's debut.

Junior Forward Matt Story led the way for the Wildcats with 16 points, while senior standout Spenser Faire finished with just nine points after fouling out midway through the fourth quarter.

Air Force has expressed significant interest in Faire who also plays for the Colorado Chaos AAU team.
