Fruita Preps For Homecoming Match-up Against Montrose

by Josh Moser

GRAND JUNCTION, colo.-Fruita Monument (3-4, 2-0 SWL) continued practice Wednesday in preparation for Friday night's Homecoming contest against Montrose (3-3, 0-0 SWL) at Stocker Stadium.

The Wildcats are undefeated in league play with a key win over rival Grand Junction in Week 5, and now find themselves in control of their own destiny in the Southwestern League.

"It's definitely different not being on the losing side," said Junior Linebacker Matt Story. "It's a different feeling, we always come from behind... this is definitely weird it's a new place, but it feels good."

Story leads the Wildcats in total tackles (46) and sacks (4.0) according to Maxpreps.com

Kick-off is Friday night at 7 p.m.
