Colorado Mesa Wrestling Preps For a "Return" to Western State

GRAND JUNCTION, colo.-Colorado Mesa's Wrestling team will open RMAC competition Thursday at Western State, in what is a return for more than half of the Maverick coaching staff.

Four of the six CMU assistant coaches wrestled at Western State, while Head Coach, Chuck Pipher assisted there for four seasons.s

Thursday's conference opener will provide much familiarity for this Maverick group.

The feature match-up pits CMU All-American Nick Peterson against Kyle Piatt, originally out of Olathe in the 184lbs weight class.

The two split two matches last season.

Colorado Mesa is 3-0 to start off 2012-2013.
