Colorado Mesa Sweeps RMAC Baseball Weekly Honors

GRAND JUNCTION, colo.-The Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference released its weekly awards on Tuesday afternoon, with Colorado Mesa claiming both the Player and Pitcher of the Week honors.

The Mavericks took three-of-four games from Montana State-Billings on the weekend and improved their record to 4-3 on the year.

Garrett Carpenter was named the RMAC Player of the Week after batting .636 (7-for-11) in the series against Montana St.-Billings. Carpenter hit a double, a triple, scored seven runs and drove in five on the weekend. He slugged .609 and was on-base over 69 percent of the time. He also pitched 2.1 innings and struck out four in the series and picked up a save in the series finale.

Righty Joey Danner earned the RMAC Pitcher of the Week award after his work in game three of the series. Danner earned his first win as a Maverick after pitching six shutout innings in the 6-2 win. He allowed just three baserunners in the game and struck out five.

The Mavericks will be on the road this weekend in Phoenix, AZ for a three-game series with the Grand Canyon 'Lopes.
