Claire Brandon Live From 2013 X-Games Media Day

GRAND JUNCTION, colo.-The twelfth installment of X-Games Aspen begin on Thursday. NewsChannel5 Sports Reporter Claire Brandon made the trip to Aspen Wednesday to cover media day.

Numerous athletes were featured in Wednesdays press conference with no bigger name that Shaun White. The snowboarder known as the flying tomato recently cut off his signature red locks and donated them to charity.

He will be challenged in 2013 by the young 19-year-old Mark McMorris. The Montreal native won the 2012 Big Air competition.

On the ski side its a battle between Kelly Clark and Elena Hight.

The Games officially kick off Thursday at Buttermilk Mountain at 12:30p.m.
