Assistant Director of Player Development, Zach Wilson Talks Grand Junction Rockies

by Josh Moser

GRAND JUNCTION, colo.-The Grand Junction Rockies returned to practice Friday, after a disappointing loss to a summer collegiate team, the Greeley Greys, in an exhibition game on Thursday night at Suplizio Field.

The team was not made available before practice to the media.

Ultimately, it's between me and our Farm Director, Jeff Bridich to oversee all of the player development, from the players to the staff and just making sure things are running well on a day-to-day basis," said Zach Wilson, Assistant Director of Player Development of the Colorado Rockies to NewsChannel5's Sports Director, Josh Moser.

"A lot of these guys are just getting their feet wet and starting to understand what professional baseball is all about, but we have the right staff here in place, and that all starts with the manager, Tony Diaz, so he is the right man to take care of these young kids and these young prospects and I have no doubt that you are going to see a tremendous team in Grand Junction this year," he said.

The Rockies will practice tomorrow at 2:30 and we leave on a bus Monday morning at 7a.m. en route to Odgen, Utah for their season opener against the Ogden Raptors, the Pioneer League affiliate of the Los Angeles Dodgers.
