GRAND JUNCTION, Colo.- A new nonprofit coffee shop and cafe is in town and open for all.

The Bistro: A Place for Teens is a part of the Tree House Center for Youth and is located on the corner of North Avenue and Fifth Street in Menagerie Square.

The Bistro is geared toward teens, but everyone is welcome to enjoy some coffee or lunch. "It's a pretty unique opportunity because we're a nonprofit organization, but we're running a retail coffee shop here for teens and based on teens and after school programs," said Cody Moore, executive director of the Tree House Center.

"We're not aware nationwide of too many things like this, so for us, it's a little bit of a social entrepreneurship, and we're pretty excited about that. Anybody can come in. We're not going to check ID at the door and say, 'Hey, you're too old, we're not going to give you a cappuccino,'" said Moore.

Starting this fall, the center will hold activities including after school homework assistance programs, music lessons and community service projects.

The Bistro Youth Center is open Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and Friday 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
