GRAND JUNCTION, Colo.- Teens learned how to save energy and passed that knowledge along by knocking on residents' doors Wednesday afternoon.

Take Charge Colorado helps teens learn about sustainable energy through solar panels and teaches them ways to be more efficient.

More than 15 students went door to door Wednesday afternoon to teach residents about ways they can save energy by turning off the lights, lowering the air conditioning and switching out regular light bulbs for energy efficient LED light bulbs.

Children from Grand Junction, Montrose and Alamosa all participated in the event. "We're actually here to promote sustainable information education for youth of our community and youth in Colorado," said Darin Carei, EnergyWise Companies president.
