Xcel Monitoring Gas Lines from the Sky

by KREX News Room
by Meaghan Wallace

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo.- If you see a peculiar looking helicopter flying over Grand Junction, don't be alarmed. It's Xcel Energy doing work from the skies.

On Wednesday, Xcel will use a helicopter with an electronic package hanging below it to monitor the high pressure gas lines buried in the street. To do this work, the helicopter will be flying low, at treetop level.

Officials say work should be done by the end of the day and if you do see it, please do not call 911.
