Xcel Energy Customers Could See Bills Decrease

DENVER- Xcel Energy customers could see lower natural gas and electric bills in the near future.

On Monday the energy company filed to change prices for the fourth quarter of 2012, based on comparing bills from the fourth quarter of 2011.

If approved by the Colorado Public Utilities Commission, natural gas bills would decrease by about 9 percent.

Xcel Energy also filed to change electric prices.

Based on the adjustment, residential bills would see about a 4.52 percent decrease in bills and small-business customers would see a 19.6 percent decrease.
