Woman Falls of Cliff, Rescuers Warn of Dangerous Spot

LOMA, Colo. A woman is rescued after falling off a cliff on her mountain bike Sunday. Officials say it's a spot they've been to multiple times.

Mesa County Search and Rescue, as well as Lower Valley Fire District, responded to the call at around two this afternoon.

The crash happened in Loma at Mary's Loop on the Kokopelli Trail. Officials say the drop was about 12 to 15 feet.

Teams used several ATVs, traveling two miles into the trail to make the rescue.

Doug Sieckert, a Mesa County Search and Rescue ground's team member, said, "It's just a really nasty spot where it's easy to go off. We've had several missions there where people have gone off. Some have been taken out by helicopter. This lady today was taken out by ambulance."

Officials say the best thing to do in that area is walk your bike across rather than ride.

The woman was conscious and talking as rescue officials brought her down the trail. She suffered moderate injuries.

Twinsrule, are you having some reading comprehension issues? Read the parts in the story where it said "It's just a really nasty spot where it's easy to go off." and "Officials say the best thing to do in that area is walk your bike across." This is obviously a bad spot and shouldn't be ridden. Anyone who tries to ride it and crashes should know their limitations or pay for their own rescue. Idiots. Apparently you're just as much an idiot as they are.

What exactly makes a mountain biker an idiot Rufus and Gomer? Or is every person that has a terrible accident an idiot? I say Gomer and Rufus are the real idiots!

Idiots-- you are giving them more credit than they deserve.

Start sending these idiots a bill for their rescue.
