PALISADE, Colo.- A late night car accident on Interstate 70 sent one woman to the hospital.

It happened Sunday just before 10:30 p.m. at mile marker 42 in Palisade.

Officials say, a woman was traveling eastbound attempting to make a turn to go westbound when she was struck by a truck.

The woman's husband tells NewsChannel Five, that her car was low on fuel and she made a U-turn in an attempt to get to the nearest gas station.

She was rushed to St. Mary's Hospital where she is suffering from a concussion.

Officials say alcohol was not a factor in the crash.

So the truck driver is OK? Glad no one was killed. Maybe she will think twice about drinking!
