Woman Arrested For Child Abuse Requests Bond Reduction

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo.- A Mesa County woman accused of a serious case of child abuse wants her bond reduced.
Officials say 29-year-old Ashleigh Wallace is charged with felony child abuse, as well as false reporting to authorities. Wallace's attorney has filed a motion to reduce her bond, which is currently set at $100,000.
On January 13th, investigators were summoned to St. Mary's Hospital to investigate suspected child abuse involving a 4-year-old boy. The child had a serious brain injury, a broken right arm, and bruising in different stages of healing on his body.
Officials say Wallace's significant other, 30-year-old Jessie Martinez, is also charged with child abuse, and two counts of felony child abuse.
Wallace is scheduled to return to court on April 2nd for the bond hearing.
