NEW JERSEY A major winter storm is moving out of the Midwest and on it's way to the east coast.

The mid-Atlantic region is bracing for up to a foot of snow or more in some areas.

Coastal flooding is a concern along the New Jersey shoreline where seven to 15 foot waves are expected. Police are asking people to voluntarily evacuate.

At least one death has been blamed on the storm. The incident occurred when a semi-trailer slid off a snow covered interstate into a river.
