DELTA COUNTY, Colo. - US Forest Service and the Bureau of Land Management are suppressing the Franks Bench Fire, which was detected on Friday.
The fire is burning on Uncompahgre National Forest lands about three miles south of Uranium Road and 5 miles south of the Divide Forks Campground.
Officials say the flames were sparked by lightning and have grown to 35 acres.
Firefighters are working to suppress the fire, but due to the hazardous terrain, only certain areas are accessible.
One BLM engine, two wildland fire crews and miscellaneous support personnel are currently assigned to the fire.
No structures were threatened as of Sunday evening and there were no road or trail closures.
However, the Forest Service is urging the public to avoid the area affected by the fire, which includes trails in the Blue Creek Park Area.
