WESTMINSTER, Colo.- In a very brief press conference held just before 7 a.m. Thursday, Westminster Police said they do not have any additional information on the disappearance of Jessica Ridgeway as of right now.
Many were expecting them to either confirm or deny that a body found Wednesday in Arvada was the missing 10-year-old; however, officials are remaining tight lipped.
Searchers discovered the body Wednesday. It was found next to a drain pipe in Pattridge Park near the Rocky Flats National Wildlife Refuge.
Authorities say the body was not intact, which is delaying identification. Westminster Police say they're hoping for a positive identification of the body by Friday.
The discovery was made about seven miles southwest of Jessica's home and several miles south of where the girl's backpack was found in Superior.
The gender and approximate age of the body also have not been released.
At this point authorities say they believe Jessica was abducted by an unknown suspect, and they are confident her parents weren't involved.
The girl lives with her mother in Westminster, while her father lives in Independence, Mo.
