Western Tiger Salamander: CO's State Amphibian

DENVER, Colo.- Colorado has a state bird, even two state songs and now, it can officially say it has a state amphibian.

A bill making the Western Tiger Salamander the official amphibian was signed into law Friday.

A Denver primary school class suggested the designation.

Governor John Hickenlooper visited with the kids and told them they were a model for others.

The Western Tiger Salamander is found in every Colorado county.
