Western Slope Rattled by 3.9 Earthquake

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo.- Some residents of our region are feeling a little rattled, after a small earthquake hits Western Colorado and Southeastern Utah.

According to the U.S. Geological Survey, the magnitude 3.9 quake struck around 9:46 p.m. Wednesday night.

It was centered about 56 miles southwest of Grand Junction and 35 miles east-southeast of Moab.

A seismologist at the University of Utah says the quake was primarily felt by people in Grand Junction and those in a few towns in Utah.

There were no immediate reports of any damage.
