PALISADE, Colo.- The city of Palisade welcomes a new organization to the community.
The Western Slope Food Bank of the Rockies celebrated its grand opening Wednesday evening.
The food bank is thrilled with the new facility. It's three times the size of the previous location.
Food bank officials say the big move means a big commitment they plan on fulfilling for the Western Slope's needy.
"With the extra office space we can bring everyone together as more of a team. With the larger warehouse we're able to offer a lot more products to our partner agencies for them to distribute to their needy clients," explained Starlene Collins, the manager for the Western Slope Food Bank of the Rockies.
The food bank is always in need of donations. They accept non-perishable food items, as well as frozen, or refrigerated family size food. Pet food is also needed.
