Western Colorado Hay Bank Accepting Applicants

OLATHE, Colo. - As NewsChannel 5 reported this week, animal owners in need are encouraged to reach out to the Western Colorado Hay Bank to get extra hay for their livestock.

Although the hay bank has been around for the last three years, the recent attention has made them busier than ever.

Animal owners can apply for hay donations if they are in a situation were they can't afford it themselves.

Recently an increased amount of people have been taking advantage of this free service.

"We've been inundated. Yesterday we probably had about 25 phone calls, today we've had about 12, the phone calls just continue to come in," said Kathy Hamm with the Western Colorado Hay Bank.

To apply for hay donations or to give donations, call the End of the Trail Horse Rescue/Sanctuary at (970) 323-5400.
